FAGGOT, by Shahad

My body shakes and shivers. It trembles with every tender touch of your supple hands. Stroking every spot and tracing every curve. Breath fills the air. I'm panting and crying. Fearful. I hear a growling voice. Enveloping every soft moan that fills my ear. Your hands gently caress my face. I come closer yearning to taste your lips. The feel on my skin is now rough and ghastly. Caresses turn into tugging and pulling. So hard. My skin is ripping. I stare at the coarse texture of the rope, contrasting the smooth feel of your lips against mine. I taste you. But it transforms into a nauseating taste of blood in my mouth. Your lips reach down to my neck. Teasing my soft spots. I feel it becoming forceful. Strings piercing through my delicate face. The rope now encircles me. Fearful. I turn you over sliding my hands across your back. My body against yours. I feel empowered. My hand is slipping away. Tied behind my back. Stripped from all power. My breathing weakens. I lay my feeble head against the rope. Lifeless.

"The piece I submitted is meant to show what it feels like to live in a place where you're completely rejected. It doesn't only speak about bullying in school or a small community, but bullying that comes from the whole society you live in. I tried to show a contrast between feeling love and wanting to love someone but at the same time fearing your life, because where I live it is truly a matter of life or death."
