BULLYING CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE, by qtfiddler

~Bullying can happen Anywhere, by qtfiddler
"Bullying has been around for a very long time. Bullying has become a big issue in school because bullies make others feel bad about themselves. At times, bullying can get so bad that the victim commits suicide. In 2010, more than 10 students, whose ages ranged from 9 to 13, committed suicide because of bullying issues. Children’s grades can drop if the student is being bullied. In school, the student won’t be listening to the teacher; they will be wondering what they did to get bullied and whether or not anyone will sit with them at lunch. Victims of bullying may have problems with low self-esteem and depression that can last into adulthood and interfere with personal and professional lives. Bullying can also affect the bully’s life, too. Bullies are more likely to use tobacco and alcohol, and may grow to be abusive spouses. Bullies also may grow up to be criminals. I believe that schools need to do more to stop bullying. There are so many bad long term effects of bullying for both the bully and the victim. We need to try to stop bullying so that the long term effects of bullying won’t occur any longer. I think that there should be a lot more anti-bullying programs as well as having stricter enforcement of disciplinary actions to stop bullying in schools. Currently, students are told to tell a teacher if they are bullied. However, only one in four students who are bullied, report it. School should be a place where students can feel safe while they learn. I think that we should teach kids about the effects of bullying while they’re in elementary school, while the kids are young. If kids learn about the hurtfulness of bullying when they’re young, they will be less likely to continue bullying in the future. The more we teach young kids not to bully and how to confront a bully without making the situation worse, the less problems relating to bullying there will be."
