SCARS, by 0L50NJ4

The scars of this life
the scars of this life
the scars of this
life

they told me
I'm worthless
never gonna amount to anything
the teachers pushed me down
held me down
made sure to
not educate

You're worthless
You're worthless
And before long
I had to take a look
good hard
long look

What their sayin' is it true?
Is their argument
does it hold
any weight
is it valid
what do they see?

I could not see,
nor do I today know
what they saw
back then
before

when I was

You're worthless
You're worthless
I echoed back
I'm worthless
I'm worthless

I'm

and now
in the present time
I'm worthless
Never amounted to anything
Never became someone

my voice screamed out to God
he never heard

When he did respond
he kicked me down
put his heel on my head
and pushed me into the ground
just as they did

Back then
Back when
I was a young kind
in school
beside them.
They despised me
Bigotry
Prejudice has a name
and it's them
the ones who
held me down
ground
and wore me
into the

hell I am in now.

I fought as long as I could
held out
but when it comes down to it
I have no more straws to grasp
when your very savior turns his face from you
sides with the ones who

hated on you.

Then what can you do
tell me,
what can you do.

These scars
I'm weeping away

their
so many years
I'm left to
fester and rot
away.

This is me
me today.
