STOP THE HATE, by Ali Hayman

She walks around with pain in her heart
The hate she's faced has torn her self-esteem apart
They call her horrible names
And then laugh because to them it's all fun and games.
We are also a part of the human race
But hate is not all we face
There is more to me than my sexuality
Take for example my unique personality
All I want is to be treated with respect
Why is that so hard to accept?
We fight to have the same equal rights
And the right to marry the person we love
But hate looms over us like a dark cloud from above
Love conquers hate
We will win this fight while those who hate on us will be met with their fate
~Stop The Hate, by Ali Hayman
"My submission is a poem I wrote after I was bullied relentlessly for my sexual orientation it helped to write the poem and get out my feelings I had been dealing with for a long time that I almost bottled up inside of me."
